AJ's Story
Back in the summer of 2018, my sister and I were just 8 and 10 years old, out on the lake fishing for Walleye and Perch. That day, we lost a ton of harnesses in the weed beds, and with a pretty limited tackle box, I started thinking—why not try making my own?
I asked my mom if I could learn how, and with the support of both my parents, they surprised me with an airbrush. That whole summer, I practiced painting on plastic spoons, slowly building my skills.
Eventually, I started customizing willow and colorado blades, and I taught myself how to tie snell and palomar knots. We started visiting local bait shops, and before long, my mom helped us create a Facebook page.
That’s how Reel Cool Lures was born. Now, I’m 18, and continue to introduce new patterns and expand my product lines. I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy creating it. - AJ
