Man's best Paddle Buddy
There’s something magical about gliding across a serene lake in an ultralight canoe with your canine companion. Your passenger will have nothing to say about the efficiency of your stroke, paddling too slow, or fast or even just sitting still. There will be no criticism or instruction -- just loving companionship. The gentle rhythm of your paddling, the splash of water, and the delighted woofs of your dog as they watch the world drift by is a perfect blend of adventure and tranquility. Whether you're exploring quiet coves or simply floating together under the open sky, a canoe trip with your dog is an experience like no other.
If you have a special pup you wish to bring along - please give us a call. We'll make recommendations for the most appropriate boat and even adjust seating to accommodate the extra weight for proper trim.

Comfort
Paddling with a special companion enhances on-the-water experiences appreciably. A little training and choosing the right boat will result in countless good times and memories. The weight and size of your pooch plays animportant role in boat selection. Dogs in the twenty pound range can join you in almost any boat -- including kayaks if the cockpit opening is large enough.
Outfitting Styles to meet your individual needs
On the other hand, larger dogs require adaptations that will insure proper trim, stability, safety, comfort (for you and your dog) and peace of mind. Allowances must be made to provide adequate room, proper balancing so the boat paddles well and a few other concerns. The most popular models for paddling with larger dogs (Labs and larger) are: Woods Canoe 12, Impulse 13, Sacandaga 14 and the Inspire 14.5. All four designs have adequate stability for the dog to roam a bit without instigating a capsize.

I spent most of my money on fishing.
The rest of it I wasted.
