Specifications
Length: 13’
Width: 29”
Depth: 10”
Weight & Cost:
Glass - 26 lbs - $849
Kevlar - 18 lbs - $1,249
Carbon - 13 lbs - $1,649
Color: see Color Chart
page for selections. We
do not use gelcoat.
While gelcoat does
provide good color and
some protection from
scratching, we believe
the added weight is not
worth the slight increase
in protection. We
pigment the resin which
carries the color
completely through the
laminate and offers
excellent UV protection.
Gunnels: nothing looks or
feels as good as wood.
Native cherry or ash are
available at no additional
charge. If you’re looking
for something exotic or
outrageous just give us a
yell -- Zebra wood, you
name it.
Seating: standard seating
is a foam pad from
gunnel to gunnel under
the butt area. A Surf-to-
Summit KOF 301 foam
seat and backrest is
installed on top of the
base foam. It’s quite
comfortable even for a
few hours at a stretch.
Check out the Options
page for additional
seating choices.
Flotation: the Ripple 13’
is produced without
flotation. The kevlar and
carbon boats will float if
swamped but they will
not support bodies or
gear -- the glass boat
will not float if swamped.
The boat is produced
without flotation because
so many paddlers wish
to use triangular dry
bags which will not fit
well with flotation
chambers at the ends.
Flotation is available (and
recommended) as shown
on the Options page.
Footrests: adjustable
footrests are standard on
all Ripple models.
Ripple 13’
The mold for the Ripple 13’ is currently under construction. Boats are expected to be available by September of 2013.
The hull is a shallow V that exhibits excellent initial and final stability. The Ripple 13’ is actually a Wee Lassie that has been lengthened by 2’6” and made 2” wider. It paddles and glides with little effort . . . quiet, precise in tracking, maneuverable, seaworthy and capable of carrying significant loads.
The Ripple 13’ is a boat that you’ll want to paddle for the shear pleasure of skimming across the water without a ripple . . . or in a Ripple . . . whatever . . .
